Ramblings

So upon further inspection of all the blogs i have recently discovered I've realized that people actually update others with information on whats going on in their life's, so i guess i'll try that.

Been married for about a year and a half to the beautiful Careena Marie.

this is my favorite picture from our wedding

so ya life has been a blast, she works for LARRYJOHNWRIGHT and advertising agency, and she is taking some classes at MCC this semester. I on the other hand am lazy and didnt sign up in time to get the class i need so ill be taking a break this semester. i am currently working as a floor manager for ATOMIC COMICS in mesa, on southern and countryclub, you should drop by and see me some time. (ask for logan) Anyway we dont have any kids yet, but we have an awesome cat named Battlecat! Hes ferocious. and he's about all the kid we need for the moment.

We are living here in mesa arizona, (dont worry i have a mexican flag air freshener in my car, so we're safe) and we love it. . . .and this is currently my favorite picture (it changes hourly)

I'm currently attempting to acquire a position in a hospital to try to get some medical experience, because im not sure if i want to go into the nursing field or a career in Radiology. Well to be more precise (and more honest) i really dont know what i want to do at all, but the medical field seems to be what im leaning towards now. anyway thats all i have right now but im sure ill think of more to add.

chronicles of loss and grief

When i read C. S. Lewis' "A Grief Observed" i started writing down some of the statements and questions within. It's such a brutally honest journal of loss and emotion i could not help but record some of his more profound realizations and queries. Here are a few i loved.

"It is hard to have patience with people who say 'there is no death' or 'death doesn't mater.' There is death. And whatever is matters. And whatever happens has consequence, and it and they are irrevocable and irreversible. You might as well say that birth doesn't matter. I look up at the night sky. Is anything more certain than in all those vast times and spaces, if i were allowed to search them, i should nowhere find her face, her voice, her touch? she died. she is dead. is the word so difficult to learn?"

"It doesn't really matter whether you grip the arms of the dentist's chair or let your hands lie in your lap. The drill drills on."

"They call Stephen the first martyr. Hadn't Lazarus the rawer deal?"

"what do people mean when they say 'i am not afraid of god because i know he is good'? Have they never even been to a dentist?"

"God has not been trying an experiment on my faith or love in order to find their quality. He know it already. It was i who didn't. . . he always knew that my temple was a house of cards. His only way of making me realize the fact was the knock it down."

"You never know how much you really believe anything until its truth or falsehood becomes a matter of life and death to you. . . apparently the faith - i thought it faith - which enables me to pray for the other dead has seemed strong only because i have never really cared, not desperately, whether they existed or not. yet i thought i did."

"As i have discovered passionate grief does not link us with the dead but cuts us off from them."

"Five senses; an incurably abstract intellect; a haphazardly selective memory; a set of preconceptions and assumptions so numerous that i can never examine more than a minority of them - never become even conscious of them all. how much of total reality can such an apparatus let through?"

the most amazing movie i probably wont be watching

ok everyone (as if anybody reads this) go watch the trailer to the movie "watchmen"

here --http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4blSrZvPhU

then go read how awesome it is

here --http://www.empireonline.com/trailer/breakdown/watchmen/

it looks like people are finally being smart about turning a graphic novel into a movie, no more of this creative license crap, just make it look like the book! that's all we want, sure some things have to be changed in order to fit it to the film medium but wow this looks dead on.

irreverent things make me laugh

entertainment epidemic

replaying recent events in my noggin ive stumbled onto the fact that i am a "movie quote bandit" now some of you out there might me unfamiliar with the above mentioned term, most likely because i have just successfully coined it. . .

mov·ie-quote-ban·dit [moovee kwot bandit ] (noun) – an individual that upon hearing the beginning or introduction of a quote from a number of entertainment sources (i.e. movies, music, literature, tv shows, pop culture, etc. . . ) feels the need to continue the quote regardless of who initially spoke. It also can describe a person who feels the need to correct and individual if they have misquoted a particular quote and or lyric.
